Remote Accountant ( 6 months contract )

We are looking for remote accountant ( 6 months contract ),  you will be joining the Controller and Sr. Staff Accountant in bringing organization, discipline, and predictability to a fast-growing company. This position will be evolving as systems are implemented, so being adaptable and flexible are key.

Responsibilities

• Research outstanding discrepancies through mainframe queries and reports. Prepare appropriate correcting entries.
• Assist with research and resolution of dividend reinvestments between trading partner and Internal systems.
• Analyze discrepancies to determine root cause and suggest corrective action to prevent future occurrences. Work with systems to prioritize system work as needed.
• Proactively identifies unique problems, such as reconciliation/posting issues, and resolves, if necessary.
• Complete Project work as needed.
• Responsible for adherence to the company’s framework of internal controls.
• Other duties as assigned based on divisional needs.
• Identify areas within the team where tasks can be streamlined and improved. Implement changes as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent education/experience.
• Up to 2 years of experience, with degree.
• Working knowledge of accounting area preferred (for example, investments, insurance products).

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, customer service approach.
• Detail-oriented, accurate; work effectively individually and within a team, organizational and prioritization skills.
• Higher level skill set in Microsoft Excel is preferred, with experience in creating and modifying pivot tables, vlookups, and macros a plus.
