What's the fastest you've ever gotten help after your car broke down on the side of the road?

Quote from cody sutton on May 2, 2026, 6:10 pmHi everyone, I'm asking this because I had a pretty scary experience yesterday and I'm still thinking about how differently things could have gone if I hadn't gotten lucky. I was driving on the E11 near the Mussafah exit when my car suddenly started shaking and then just lost all power. I managed to coast to the shoulder which was good but I was in a really bad spot where the shoulder was narrow and cars were flying past me at over 120 kilometers an hour. Every time a big truck went by the whole car would shake and I was genuinely terrified that someone might drift out of their lane and hit me. I called my insurance for roadside assistance and they told me it would be at least ninety minutes before anyone could reach me because all their trucks were busy on other calls. Ninety minutes felt like an eternity when I was sitting there watching my side mirror vibrate from the wind of passing vehicles. I started calling around to see if any independent company could get to me faster because I really didn't want to wait that long in such a dangerous spot. After a few tries I found a company that promised fast vehicle breakdown help Abu Dhabi and the dispatcher said someone could be there in about thirty five minutes. I was skeptical because everyone promises fast service but I didn't have many other options at that point. To my absolute relief a truck pulled up behind me in maybe twenty five minutes which was even faster than they said. The driver was really professional and got my car loaded up quickly while I sat in his truck cab feeling safe for the first time in almost an hour. He dropped me and the car at a garage near my apartment and the whole thing cost way less than I expected. Now I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced really fast response times like that or if I just got lucky. Do you have a specific company you trust for emergencies or do you just rely on whatever number you can find when things go wrong? I'd love to hear stories about both good and bad experiences so I know who to call next time because after yesterday I never want to be stuck waiting ninety minutes in a dangerous spot ever again. Thanks for reading and for any advice you can share.
